KD Hall is a powerhouse in communication, storytelling, filmmaking, higher education, and women’s leadership advocacy. As of April 2025, she is a Seattle Film Commissioner, a Board of Governor and Scholarship Chair for NATAS NW, Partnership Chair of the Seattle Association of Black Journalists, and a Seattle Sports Commissioner—testaments to her expansive influence and trusted leadership.

A six-time Emmy-nominated executive producer and independent filmmaker, KD has consistently used media as a vehicle to inspire, inform, and empower. Her dynamic career is fueled by an unwavering passion for amplifying underrepresented voices and creating pathways for women and girls to lead and thrive.

Media & Communications Trailblazer

Founder of KD Hall Communications, KD has over two decades of experience delivering client-focused communications, strategic media services, and integrated marketing solutions. Her credentials include a bachelor’s in mass communication and Broadcast Journalism, an MBA, and a Master of Arts in Adult  Education Leadership and Training.

In 2024, she independently launched and hosted her acclaimed talk show, Conversations with KD Hall. The series—now expanded into 10 impactful episodes—highlights timely social issues, celebrates community leaders, and reinforces KD’s natural gift for insightful, empowering dialogue.

Strategic Leader, Consultant, and Trainer

KD's consulting expertise spans strategic communications, crisis management, business strategy, workforce development, and media training. She is certified in DISC personality assessments and has trained leaders across sectors to improve internal communication and enhance leadership capacity. Her guidance has shaped CEOs and C-suite teams across Washington State, positioning her as a go-to advisor for transformational leadership.

Notable clients include the Washington State Women’s Commission, Bellevue College, Treehouse for Kids, Ezell’s Famous Chicken, Seattle Chamber of Commerce, and Big Brothers Big Sisters of Puget Sound.

Founder & Visionary of the KD Hall Foundation

In 2014, KD launched the KD Hall Foundation, a nonprofit advancing gender equity and empowering women and girls through education, mentorship, and leadership programming. The Foundation's signature initiative, the College Ambassador Program, equips young women (ages 17–24) with skills in public service, storytelling, and leadership. With active programs in Washington State and Lagos, Nigeria, the initiative has reached over 1,000 girls and graduated 66 college ambassadors.

KD's leadership has forged strong relationships with public agencies, school districts, and community partners, fostering inclusive access and trust-based engagement.

Educator & Academic Contributor

KD is an Affiliate Professor in the Master of Communication Leadership program at the University of Washington and a regular guest lecturer for the Evans School of Public Policy & Governance. She teaches storytelling, leadership, media ethics, and mentoring best practices, equipping graduate students with the tools to lead in an evolving communications landscape.

Accomplished Producer & Event Host

KD’s creative footprint includes multiple short films, television specials, and signature conferences, including the Women on the Rise series and Women's History Month events. Her work has touched communities across Seattle, King and Snohomish Counties, and national audiences online.

She has produced over 50 large-scale events, blending storytelling, empowerment, and civic leadership—and earning multiple awards and recognition along the way.
